Festival Fanfare
Instrumentation: 0.0,0,0/4,3,3,1/0 Perc/0 Stgs
Duration: 1 1/4 mins.

Festival Fanfare was commissioned by the American Symphony Orchestra League to be a signature piece for opening each concert of the Shenandoah Valley Music Festival under the direction of the legendary conducting teacher Richard Lert. Composed in the spring of 1964, it received its world premiere that summer and has been performed many times since. This brief but intense fanfare uses the entire brass section to create a powerful sense of expectation and importance for events about to take place.
